Liberty Early Elementary is a safe, respectful early childhood community characterized by collaboration, rigor, and fun. We inspire our students to be confident learners, innovative thinkers, and compassionate citizens. Setting big goals for little learners, we prioritize the fundamentals of reading, writing, and mathematics skills to prepare students for the next steps in their educational journey.
The MSD of Decatur Township is Student Invested, Community Connected. We prioritize Student learning, Safety and Customer Service, fostering a support system for our families.
A Note from the Principal
If you can read this, thank a teacher!
I have always loved school, which is probably why I decided to work in one my entire life! Many of you have shared with me that your children love school, too, and are sad on weekends and breaks that they don't get to come to Liberty. I hope the love of school and learning they have now will last throughout their lives. And, even though I was a motivated student, I can still remember clearly my teachers - those caring adults who opened windows to the world for me through reading, writing math, science, social studies, art, music and physical education. They helped me see beyond my small town life to think and dream about the world and the universe beyond. I'm friends with some of my old teachers on Facebook and it's amazing to see how they are still touching lives.
The first week in May is set aside as Teacher Appreciation Week throughout the country. And, at Liberty, we celebrate Staff Appreciation Week because everyone here supports student learning. I hope you will join me in thanking the staff members who bring the gift of learning and growing to our students every day. Watch for a "homework" assignment from the PTO to come home with your child next week to help him/her say Thank You to a teacher!
